Artisan Organic Medicinal Ointments

Made Right Here

My passion for making Medicinal Ointments started when I enrolled on the Chinese Herbal Medicine Diploma.

The power of the herbs has drawn me towards this path of new discoveries and I decided to start making ointments and salves when I experienced first hand what they can do.

I used to have a patch of eczema on my wrist that would not go with anything, until I tried one of these ointments that a Chinese Herbalist gave to me. I could not believe it when one day it was gone and never came back again!

The ointments  and the salves I craft are made of authentic DaoDi  Chinese dry herbs,  cold pressed organic sesame oil, organic fair trade beeswax, shea butter and Neal's Yard organic essential oils.

What are DaoDi herbs?

The herbs  are grown in the right place and harvested at the right time, resulting in herbs that come from authentic places of origin according to the classical text Shen Nong Gen Cao Jing the Divine Farmer’s Materia Medica.

The herbs herbs are 100% traceable to the original source. Growing herbs with the DaoDi concept allows the patients to rest assured that the herbs are of the correct species and origin.

According to a concise definition proposed by experts at the 390th Xiangshan Scientific Conference in Beijing in 2011, DaoDi medicinal material is:

‘Medicinal material that is produced and assembled in specific geographic regions with designated natural conditions and a specific ecological environment, with particular attention to cultivation technique, harvesting and processing. These factors lead to quality and clinical effects that surpass items of the same botanical origin that are produced in other regions, thus such items are widely recognized and enjoy a good reputation’

Shiunko Ointment/Purple Cream

The Shiunko Purple Cloud Cream is a topical skin cream based on the traditional Chinese herbal formula, and can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, from eczema, psoriasis, burns and insect bites, to chronic inflammation and irritation.

What is Shiunko Purple Cream?

The Shiunko Purple Cloud Cream is a proprietary blend of herbs on a base of beeswax and sesame oil, based on an 18th-century Japanese herbal formula. Shiunko Cream is specially manufactured from organic Fair Trade beeswax and shea butter together with the finest-quality Japanese sesame oil and the Chinese herbs Zi Cao (Lithospermum) and Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis).

What is Zi Cao?

The purpose of Zi Cao, or purple leaf, is to clear heat, cool blood and reduce toxicity. Damp heat and blood toxicity in Chinese medicine can manifest in skin disorders such as eczema, carbuncles, boils, burns, chickenpox and similar.

What is Dang Gui?

Dang Gui is the herb used to tonify blood and promote blood circulation. It also helps generate flesh and expel pus. When combined with Zi Cao, it can speed up the recovery process.

When should I use Shiunko Purple Cream?

The Shiunko Purple Cloud Cream is a versatile ointment that helps skin regeneration and speeds up the excretion of toxins. It is especially suitable for treating the following conditions:

  • Burns
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis

BAA and BAF worked with Public Health England and the Office of National Statistics to raise the category of acupuncture from 3219 - the category of Health Associate, up to 2220 - the level of Osteopaths and Physiotherapists. All professional acupuncturists now belong in the category of Healthcare Professionals. This means that in the event of future Tiers of Lockdowns the clinic will be able to stay open.
